Donovan graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2023 with a degree in Drum Performance. He learned not only how to play a variety of different genres, including rock, blues, funk, jazz, metal, and fusion, but also learned how to work with a variety of different types of people. Playing guitar, bass, drums, and vocals in several bands, he was able to apply everything he had learned to the stage, knowing intimately what its like to play each instrument in a live band setting.

Donovan’s teaching philosophy is all about making sure his students have fun learning their new instrument, and seeing the greater part music can play in their everyday life. It is important to him that students show improvement over time. However, the first step to that is being excited to pick up the instrument and explore all of the musical possibilities it holds, whether that is through learning their favorite songs, specializing in a specific genre, or writing their own music!
